Sales Terms

A Few KEY Points of our sales policy:

~Horses are NOT considered Sold until paid for in full.

~A signed sales agreement and a 1/3 deposit of agreed sale price is required to "hold" a horse, this deposit will "hold" for 1 week or until a foal is ready for weaning,  or unless other arrangements are made and in writing. We do take short term payments with contract. A horse does not leave here until paid in full.

~ Deposits are non refundable unless a horse fails to pass a pre purchase exam where the veterinarian states it is not sound for intended purpose.

~ It is recommended a horse be picked up as soon as it is paid for in full, or should be insured. 

~ A pre purchase exam is advised and welcomed. All of our horses are believed sound unless otherwise noted. VET EXAMS WELCOMED at buyers expense BEFORE horse is bought. Horses are sold as is with no warranties.

~ Horses are sold to approved homes. Started horses, mean just that, they are just starting their training undersaddle. We do tell if a horse is finished in an event or not, normally all are sold before we get to finish them. It is our desire that our horses are well cared for and have a good future.  Seller reserves the right to refuse a sale.  Horses having their own personalities, like people, sometimes won’t 'click' with their new owner. In the event that happens, I will gladly try and help the buyer to resale their horse.

~Prices listed as CASH ONLY or FIRM are non negotiable. Good homes a must! and in many cases 'first right of refusal' will be requested. We can help you find a hauler if you need. We recommend really checking into a hauler before you hire them.

We accept PayPal as a form of payment. Payment on horses with Paypal, buyer pays the 3.5% paypal fee. NO PERSONAL CHECKS. MO & CC will have time to clear before horse can leave. Horses coggins , papers, transfer etc etc will be given to the shipper who hauls the horse. Click on the link below to send a purchase deposit. All horses shown by appointment. Additional photos can sent by email upon request. If no video is available on line, please be serious about purchasing when requesting a video. Video taping requires at least 2 additional people, suitable weather conditions, at least 4 hours to prepare the horse and video tape, and several hours dowloading footage to the computer, editing, and uploading to a server. Normally if video footage is not available on a horse, it is due to recently being added to the sales list, or lack of time, man power, or weather conditions unsuitable for video taping.

Please note: Because of the number of horses purchased by out of state buyers, please understand that no horses can be "held" without a deposit and pre-purchase agreement. All out-of-state buyers have choice of using a local vet, or arranging for their own vet to perform a pre-purchase exam, including x-rays, on our premises. Upon buyer's receipt of a passing pre-purchase exam from the vet chosen, deposit is applied to purchase price, and remaining balance is due. Deposits are nonrefundable, unless a statement from the vet says the horse is not, at the time of vetting, sound for intended use. Prices are negotiable only under the terms of a Quick Sale.

A Quick Sale transaction takes no more than 5 days, including weekend days, from the time the deposit is received, the vet check is completed, and the remaining balance is received by Windy Hill Sport Horses.
